whilst blue sea slugs (Glaucus atlanticus) are pretty cool looking, I don’t think the person holding this one realises that they are quite venomous and there is no way I would ever pick up of these little cuties. G. atlanticus feeds on Physalia (Portugese Man-O-War) and keep the Physalia’s venomous nematocysts to use to immoblise and kill their prey. Because they store the nematocysts in high concentrations that makes them even more deadly than the Portugese Man-O-War.
So a bit of advice, if you ever see one of these, do not pick it up!
